Trailblazers: the award for slightly overblown press release of the week goes to Kent firm Thomson Snell & Passmore. The firm has made 'charity history' while admirably raising £6,000 for the Kent Wildlife Trust - some 25 staff (including senior partner Michael Sugden, pictured second from the right at the front) walked a total of 305 miles from Bough Beech Nature Reserve along two scenic routes from and around the reserve, near Ide Hill in Sevenoaks, and were greeted by the Mayor of Tunbridge Wells, Cllr Mrs Barbara Cobbold. The 'history', such as it is, was that this was the first ever sponsored walk from the reserve. But we wouldn't want overexcited PR people to obscure the achievement, and we are particularly pleased to see solicitors involved in a sponsored walk around a field (essentially), rather than indulging in the modern trend of hopping backwards across the Sahara blindfolded or similar exotic adventure. We look forward to the firm which holds a sponsored silence or, even better, a sponsored spell.
