Obiter has been mightily impressed with the level of response - more than 50 replies - to our competition to win a TM Lewin shirt and 'Damages' DVD starring Glenn Close. All we can say is, there must be a lot of sartorially challenged lawyers out there - hard to believe though that is. We have diligently picked out four lucky winners.

Pictured above is Colin Gibson, partner at City firm Field Fisher Waterhouse, who writes: 'I need a shirt and DVD because I ran a charity race for Barnardo's across the River Blackwater at low tide and ruined my only shirt.' Thanks, Colin - dare we ask why you ran the race in your suit?

Next up is John Wardle at Newcastle Upon Tyne City Council, who captures the sympathy vote (and a Glenn Close reference) with this entry: 'As a struggling council lawyer, watching an expensive DVD in a fancy shirt is as close as I'll get to a dangerous liaison'. Boom, boom!

Adam Smith from lawcareers.net wittily writes: 'When I get fitted up, I want it to be by a tailor, not a corrupt lawyer.' And Simon Robinson at Reed Smith wows us with the simplicity of his reason for wanting a shirt and DVD: 'I'm bored and topless.'

Apologies to all those who sent in sob stories about being a needy trainee/legal aid lawyer/corporate lawyer about to face destitution. We were moved by your plight but ran out of shirts, alas.

Worst entry goes to the Osbornes junior lawyer who pleads: 'My head of department has asked me to answer this for her and I will lose my job if I fail to please her'. Where's your dignity man!
