For over 150 years, the British Red Cross has provided care and support to people affected by conflict, disaster and crisis.
From conflict zones and natural disasters overseas to health emergencies and community care services here in the UK, we provide support that helps people survive, recover and rebuild their lives.
As part of the world’s largest humanitarian network, we respond wherever the need is greatest. In 2025 alone, the global Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement responded to 40 crises worldwide, supporting more than 1.4 million people through conflict, disasters and other emergencies.
Our work reaches people at every stage of a crisis. We provide emergency relief and medical support when disaster strikes, help people manage their health and maintain their independence, and equip communities with the skills and resilience to prepare for the future.
Here in the UK, we’re the largest voluntary organisation providing a nationwide, 24/7 emergency and crisis response service, 365 days a year. Our specialist services supported more than 44,800 people to improve their wellbeing and quality of life. We also helped reduce pressure on the NHS through our High Intensity Use services, generating savings of more than £7.5 million while helping vulnerable people achieve better long-term outcomes.
