The Forgiveness Project explores the possibilities and limits of forgiveness through the stories of those who have rebuilt their lives following hurt and trauma.

We work with our growing community of over 170 storytellers – both ‘victims/ survivors’ and ‘perpetrators’ - to understand what it takes to heal, restore and rehumanise:

  • We develop resources, events and programmes which enable people to hear our storytellers’ journeys of forgiveness, reconciliation and change.
  • We share these stories to present alternatives to cycles of dehumanisation and violence to nudge the narrative towards humanising stories.

At the heart of The Forgiveness Project is the understanding that these restorative narratives have the power to transform lives, not only supporting people in their individual journeys, but also building a more compassionate culture.

Our work bears witness to the resilience of the human spirit and acts as a powerful antidote to narratives of hate and dehumanisation.

The Forgiveness Project works with people of all faiths and none. We never attempt to convert but model a process of exploration and enquiry. The Forgiveness Project is the only UK organisation exploring forgiveness as a resilient response to pain and trauma.

By leaving a gift in your Will to The Forgiveness Project you will be helping build a lasting legacy of peace.
