It is now more than 50 years since The Gorilla Organization’s founder Dian Fossey first set out to save mountain gorillas from extinction.
Dian sacrificed her own life to protect the animals she loved. You might remember her story from the film Gorillas in the Mist.
Before she died, Dian was convinced that gorillas were doomed. We have proved her wrong – thanks to gifts in people’s Wills.
Now mountain gorilla numbers are slowly rising again, although they are still desperately vulnerable. And all other gorillas are just a single step from extinction.
We have proved that we can save the gorillas – but we need your help to do it.
A gift in your Will could will help our rangers protect gorillas against poachers and illegal miners. It could help us work to educate local communities and help them find ways to support themselves and their families without venturing into the gorillas’ forest home.
