Help isolated older adults find community
u3a is one of the largest membership organisations in the UK and, for over forty years, we have been bringing people together in later life to share skills, discover new interests and have fun. There are over 1,000 u3as all across the UK where members lead groups on a wide range of interests, from flute to football and fashion.
Retirement and later life can be lonely, but u3a provides members with vital social connection. Anne shares her story; “Since joining u3a, after the death of my fantastic husband, I have been given something each month to look forward to. It’s helped me cope with grief. The coffee mornings and talks with very friendly company helps.”
The Third Age Trust is the umbrella organisation that supports u3as across the movement and creates national opportunities for u3a members to learn together.
