One of China’s biggest law firms will officially open a representative office in the City of London next month. AllBright Law, which has agreed a deal with Bird & Bird, will launch its London presence on 15 March.

The Gazette first reported AllBright’s intention to open a London office in October 2016.

Around 90 partners from the firm’s Chinese offices will join a delegation in London on 14-15 March.

AllBright has 16 offices across China and around 370 partners. It has 1,500 lawyers and is among the largest in China.

The agreement, finalised last year, secures the firm a base in the European market, with the firm opening its first international representative office in Bird & Bird’s City office at New Fetter Lane.

Bird & Bird has set up offices in five Asia Pacific cities and entered into five co-operative agreements with local firms in the past 10 years.

In 2015, international firm Dentons merged with China’s largest firm Dacheng, in a partnership that created the biggest law firm in the world by lawyer headcount.
