Specialist consumer and group litigation law firm Johnson Law Group (JLG) has welcomed associate Nishanth Vasanth to its London office.
Prior to joining JLG, Vasanth was part of the legal teams representing claimants in some of the largest group claims in England and Wales, including the Municipio de Mariana & Ors v BHP Group (UK) Limited & Anor litigation arising from the environmental damage caused by the collapse of the Fundão dam in Brazil, and the Pan NOx Emissions Group Litigation concerning the alleged use of defeat devices in diesel engines.
Earlier in his career, Vasanth served as a law clerk at the Supreme Court of India, where he assisted on constitutional, commercial and public law matters.
Vasanth commented: 'I am looking forward to the range of litigation envisaged at JLG London and the possibility of harnessing the firm’s transatlantic capabilities to effectuate them. The idea of simultaneously working on litigations which are at different stages of their lifecycle is genuinely exciting and is a huge part of why I became a disputes lawyer.'
Peter Gallagher, London managing partner of Johnson Law Group, said: 'Nishanth brings impressive experience across complex, large-scale litigation, alongside a strong commitment to claimant-focused legal work. We’re delighted to welcome him to the London office at an exciting stage of growth for the firm, and look forward to the contribution he will make to both our clients and the wider team.'
With headquarters in Manchester, JLG’s London office opened in 2024.
