Specialist partnership, employment and professional regulatory law firm CM Murray LLP has appointed Peter Jackson as a strategic adviser and consultant.

Jackson, formerly managing partner and CEO at Hill Dickinson, brings almost two decades of senior leadership experience to CM Murray.
His role will focus on supporting the firm’s strategic growth and market impact as a Tier 1 adviser to professional services clients – including international and UK law firms – across the full spectrum of partnership structuring, governance, remuneration and sensitive risk-led partnership investigations and disputes, alongside the firm’s market-leading employment and regulatory capability.
Since stepping down as Hill Dickinson's CEO in 2024, Jackson has pursued a portfolio career. He continues to advise and mentor firms and individuals in the professional services sector and will continue to lecture on management issues and host Hill Dickinson’s 3:AM Conversations podcast.
Clare Murray, founder and managing partner of CM Murray, commented: 'We are delighted to welcome Peter Jackson to CM Murray LLP. Peter is one of the most respected law firm leaders of his generation – values-led, strategically astute, and deeply experienced in guiding a partnership through growth, change and complexity. Our clients come to us when the stakes are high – when governance, partner dynamics, risk and reputation all sit on the table at the same time. His appointment is a significant step in our own growth strategy: strengthening the leadership and advisory dimension of what we provide to senior management teams, while continuing to deliver the specialist legal excellence for which we are known.'
Jackson added: 'CM Murray LLP is widely recognised for its depth of partnership expertise and its understanding of how professional services firms actually work – culturally as well as legally. I’m very much looking forward to supporting Clare and the team as they build on an already market-leading platform, and to working with law firm leaders who want clear, practical and strategically grounded advice at moments that shape the future of their firms.'
The firm’s specialist team, based in the City, comprises 24 lawyers and legal professionals and advises law firms and professional services businesses on partnership and LLP structuring, mergers, governance, partner remuneration, investigations, partner exits and high-stakes disputes, and related employment and restrictive covenant issues.
