Emsleys Solicitors has appointed specialist lawyers Phillip Gower and Rebecca Ryan to join its asbestos and occupational disease team based in Wales and the south West.

Phillip Gower joins as a partner based in Cardiff. Located in the city centre, Emsleys’s newly opened Cardiff office is the first in this area as the firm implements its strategy to expand.

Phillip has over 20 years’ experience acting for claimants. He specialises in claims for asbestos exposure, occupational disease and head and brain injuries and is recognised nationally in this field. He has advised clients living abroad on claiming compensation for asbestos exposure, having acted for numerous clients in Australia, South Africa, America, Canada and Europe.

Phillip is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and a senior litigator of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), as well as a member of the Spinal Injuries Association and the Professional Negligence Lawyers Association.

He is an APIL accredited specialist and has been recommended by The Legal 500 as ’very experienced’ and ’extremely knowledgeable in the personal injuries and disease fields’.

Rebecca Ryan also joins Emsleys as an asbestos and occupational disease solicitor based in Bristol. She will be working alongside director and department head Emma Costin.

Rebecca has 9 years’ experience with specific expertise in claims for noise induced hearing loss, vibration white finger, asthma and work related upper limb disorders.

She is a senior litigator of APIL and is accredited by APIL as an asbestos and occupational disease specialist lawyer.
