Law firm Shakespeare Martineau hires insolvency and commercial litigation partner, Michael Mulligan, who will join the growing London practice.

Making his move from Grosvenor Law, a niche litigation practice, Michael specialises in corporate and personal insolvencies, arbitration and litigation cases often crossing multiple jurisdictions.

With extensive experience in commercial and insolvency litigation, building and managing successful relationships comes second nature to Michael. Having also practised in the Cayman Islands and advised on many of the largest hedge fund cases of recent years, Michael’s technical expertise allied with his sound commercial knowledge brings a new dimension to the firm.

Michael Mulligan, insolvency and commercial litigation partner at Shakespeare Martineau, said: ’Having worked for specialist law firms for many years, moving to a full-service practice with an outstanding reputation was the most natural next step in my career. I’m looking forward to getting to know, and working closely with, the wide range of experts that Shakespeare Martineau has to offer.’

Mark Beesley, head of litigation, said: ’The firm prides itself on having the perfect balance of technical expertise and breadth of experience. Michael brings plenty of both of these and we have no doubt that he will be very successful at the firm.

‘Growing the London office is a priority for the firm and we’re looking forward to Michael getting stuck in.’
