Thursfields Solicitors has expanded its Commercial Services team with the recruitment of two additional employment solicitors.

James Monk has joined as a senior associate solicitor, based in the firm’s Halesowen office. James spent the last ten years working at Anthony Collins Solicitors in Birmingham city centre, and previously worked for Eversheds. He brings experience of working with education and not-for-profit organisations.

The firm’s not-for-profit sector, led by Jenny Smith, only began 18 months ago but is already ranked Tier 2 in the West Midlands by Legal 500.

Jade Linton has also joined as an associate solicitor, working at Thursfields’ Solihull office. Jade joined from West Midlands-based Sydney Mitchell Solicitors, and has a strong local profile, regularly delivering HR seminars and speaking at industry conferences.

Jade’s focus is working with owner-managed businesses and SMEs. She was recommended in a recent Legal 500 report as ’a superstar and a joy to work with’.

Both join the firm’s head of employment Michelle O’Hara and employment associate Lisa Kemp, who is based in Worcester.

Michelle O’Hara said: ’We are delighted to have appointed two additional employment lawyers to support our growth in this discipline across Thursfields’ offices.’

James Monk and Jade Linton are two of eight new appointments Thursfields has made in the first few weeks of 2018, taking overall staff numbers above 140.
