International law firm Trowers & Hamlins has hired partner Georgie Messent in London.
Messent specialises in advising clients on all aspects of environmental law, including the regulation driving transformation to net-zero carbon emissions.
She advises on ESG corporate reporting, carbon regulation and carbon trading, extended producer responsibility and environmental regulatory and compliance issues relating to day-to-day operations, transactions and substantial litigation.
Messent has previously worked at Squire Patton Boggs and PwC.
She commented: 'I am thrilled to be joining Trowers at such a pivotal time for the environmental and regulatory sectors. The transition to net-zero is reshaping the regulatory landscape and bringing many additional challenges alongside traditional environmental issues. I look forward to working with colleagues and clients to help them navigate these changes. Trowers’ collaborative culture and forward-looking approach make it an exciting place to continue my practice.'
