Goodman Derrick LLP is pleased to announce that two experienced partners have joined the firm to further strengthen its offering to the Real Estate and Construction sectors.

Tim Langton, senior partner at Goodman Derrick said: ’I am very pleased that Dominic Whelan and Tom Pemberton have joined our practice. Real Estate and Construction continue to be very important areas for us in both the domestic and international markets. Dominic and Tom both bring something extra and they are welcome additions to our partnership. We are looking forward to introducing them to our clients.’

Dominic Whelan, right in photograph, joins the firm from Brecher, the niche real estate boutique, where he was a partner. Dominic specialises in advising developers, investors and asset managers in the UK property market. Dominic joins the thriving transactional team at Goodman Derrick which now comprises of ten partners.

On joining the firm, Dominic said: ’Goodman Derrick has a superb reputation in the property market and I’m delighted to be part of such an able and experienced team. I am also pleased to be able to offer my clients the broader expertise and experience that comes with an established, full service commercial firm such as Goodman Derrick.’

Construction specialist Tom Pemberton has joined the firm from Beale & Co where he was a partner in their London construction practice. Tom joins the existing construction team of two partners and four solicitors. He will bring further expertise in drafting and negotiating development agreements, construction contracts, professional appointments and related agreements, building on his experience over many years of advising on high profile construction and infrastructure projects, and his knowledge of the domestic and international real estate and infrastructure sectors. Tom joins the construction team at the same time as solicitor James Grinstead, previously of national firm Shoosmiths, who will be working on non-contentious and contentious matters.

Tom commented: ’I am very pleased to be joining Goodman Derrick. The firm has real strength in depth in their construction and real estate teams and I am looking forward to contributing to the excellent offering that the firm has built and to introducing my clients to the firm.’
