Boyce Hatton has announced the promotion of Cheryl Smith and Fiona Squire to equity partners. Smith and Squire both joined Boyce Hatton at the beginning of their careers initially as paralegals, rising through the ranks from trainees to equity partners.

Smith heads up the commercial property team undertaking a broad variety of commercial work including sales and purchases, lease renewals and assignments across the region. She was recently recognised at the Devon and Somerset Law Society’s Legal Awards where she was shortlisted for ‘Solicitor of the Year’. Smith joined Boyce Hatton in 2008 as a paralegal and was promoted last year from associate to partner.

Squire has two roles within the firm, leading both the personal injury and landlord & tenant teams. Squire has established and grown the landlord & tenant offering and is now recognised as an expert in this area across Torbay. She joined Boyce Hatton in 2009 as a paralegal before completing her training in 2011 and becoming partner in 2015.

Boyce Hatton’s managing partner Mark Pierce says 'Promoting Cheryl and Fiona signifies an exciting time here at Boyce Hatton as we look to the future and the next generation of business owners. Not only do they increase the overall number of equity partners investing in the business, but they also take us from one to three female equity partners. Cheryl and Fiona both bring with them impressive experience and client care, as well as enthusiasm and new ideas, all of which will be of great benefit to our clients across Torbay and the South Hams.'
