The lawyer who represented Abu Hamza and three of the convicted defendants in the 21/7 attempted bombing case has written to the United Nations (UN), complaining that she is being harassed by the UK establishment.
Muddassar Arani has written to Leandro Despouy - special rapporteur on the independence of judges and lawyers at the UN Commission on Human Rights - alleging that she has 'been the subject of numerous slanderous articles and victimisation by the media, the police, other solicitors and the judiciary'.
Ms Arani is facing a Scotland Yard investigation into allegations that she attempted to bribe a 21/7 co-defendant Manfo Kwaku Asiedu, who faces a retrial. His barrister, Stephen Kamlish QC, accused her of giving his client £650 to persuade him to alter his story.
A police spokeswoman confirmed the Crown Prosecution Service requested they investigate the allegations against Ms Arani, who strongly denies any wrongdoing.
