The AA significantly increased its legal offering this week with the launch of will writing, inheritance tax planning and conveyancing services.

The motoring organisation - which already provides personal injury claims advice and legal expenses cover - has entered referral arrangements with Hammonds Direct for the conveyancing service and national firm Irwin Mitchell for the wills and trusts advice. Skipton Financial Services will meanwhile deliver the inheritance tax planning service.

James Molloy, head of AA Legal Services, said: 'The AA has offered motor-related advice and assistance for nearly 100 years. Now the time is right to broaden our offering away from just car accidents and speeding tickets.'

He said the referral arrangements would remain in place until the Legal Services Bill becomes law and allows the motoring organisation to provide services directly to the public.

Earlier this year, the Co-operative Group announced plans to provide a similar product range to its members over the next 12 months (see 2006 Gazette, 14 September, 5).
