City firm Bird & Bird today reported a 30% jump in revenues, buoyed by the firm's recent expansion and the strength of the euro.
The firm's revenues grew from £144m in 2007/08 to £186m for the year ended 30 April 2009. However, profit per partner fell by nearly 7%, from £515,000 to £481,000 over the same period.
The firm said that its recent expansion accounted for a 9% increase in revenues, with organic growth accounting for 12%. The firm estimated that the strength of the euro against the pound boosted revenues by around 9%.
Bird & Bird chief executive David Kerr said: 'In challenging market conditions, the firm has performed comparatively well. Our focus on both transactional and contentious work has proven favourable in the current economic climate. Going forward, our major focus will be on continuing to provide good value to clients and a great service across our wide geographic network.'
