Body of work

The charity of which I am a trustee receives money from the local health authority in order to carry out work on its behalf.

The charity worker has been informed that this makes the charity a 'public body' as regards the Human Rights Act and so it should adopt appropriate procedures in order to safeguard the rights of its clients.

My firm holds various contracts and franchises granted by the Legal Services Commission.

Within the terms of these agreements is the ability on our part to grant certificates of public funding and extensions to financial limits in limited circumstances.

As this work is being done on behalf of the Legal Services Commission does this mean that the firm is a 'public body' in the same way as above?
