Most hospitable deal: City firm CMS Cameron McKenna acted for the Coventry and Rugby Hospital Company on the 372 million Walgrave Hospital private finance initiative to build the largest new NHS hospital for 30 years.
Pinsent Curtis Biddle advised University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, and the Coventry Primary Care Trust, while Clifford Chance acted for guarantee company MBIA.
Most musical deal: City firm DLA acted for independent music group Zomba in its $2.75 billion sale to German media group Bertelsmann involving the instruction of 26 law firms in 16 countries.
It is the highest price ever paid for an independent music group.
US firm Alston & Bird acted for Bertelsmann.
Most copper-bottomed deal: City firm Linklaters provided Anglo-American with English, New York, Belgian and German law advice for its $1.3 billion purchase of Chilean copper producer Compania Minera Disputada de las Condes from affiliates of ExxonMobil.
Tite & Lewis acted for ExxonMobil on English law.
Most capital deal: London firm Campbell Hooper acted for Countryside Properties on its joint venture with GE Capital Corporation (Real Estate) - advised by Nabarro Nathanson - for a 62 million docklands redevelopment in Liverpool.
Most consumerist deal: City firm Collyer-Bristow acted for developers Crest Nicholson on an agreement to construct a 45 million shopping centre in Hertfordshire with Dacorum Borough Council, advised by Dechert.
Leeds firm Walker Morris represented Debenhams on taking a let of the anchor department store.
Most super deal: Bristol's TLT acted for technology company Quadrics on a deal to supply hardware and software components to Hewlett Packard for a new 'supercomputer' ordered for scientists studying complex chemical problems at the US Department of Energy that will take a day to work out calculations that current computers need a month to solve.
Hewlett Packard was advised by its US-based in-house legal team.
Most prudent deal: Liverpool firm Bullivant Jones acted for the Somerfield Group on its 38 million sale and leaseback of a new distribution centre at St Helens in Merseyside to the Prudential at an annual rent of 2.8 million.
Lovells represented the Prudential.
Most awarding deal: DLA acted for Virgin Megastores on its sponsorship of the Academy of Composers' Ivor Novello Awards for the next three years.
London-based media and entertainment firm The Simkins Partnership acted for the academy.
Most homely deal: Linklaters acted for GUS on its 900 million acquisition of the Homebase DIY chain from private equity group Permira, which was advised by Clifford Chance.
