Most factual deal: City firm Reynolds Porter Chamberlain acted for Bob Geldof on the acquisition by his media company Ten Alps Communications of independent factual television production company 3BM for an initial 630,000.

Clearest deal: Bristol-based Osborne Clarke advised a syndicate of investors led by venture capital group Quester on a 5.5 million investment in Mesophotonics, a company that develops disruptive photonic crystal technology.

Most liquid deal: London firm Fladgate Fielder acted for La Soudure Autogene Francaise and other members of the Air Liquide Group on the acquisition of the business of welding products manufacturer Oerlikon for an undisclosed amount from its joint administrators, BDO Stoy Hayward.
