Most odds-on deal: Newcastle firm Dickinson Dees advised the shareholders of bookmakers Reg Boyle on its sale to Coral Racing for an undisclosed sum. Reg Boyle has 23 betting shops in the north-east. South-west firm Bond Pearce advised Coral.

Most neighbourly deal: London firm Boodle Hatfield acted for the Longshot group on a £17 million integrated debt and equity package that will allow the company to develop its neighbourhood restaurant concept. Longshot owns and manages the Groucho media club in London and restaurants in Chelsea and Fulham. City firm DLA advised Bank of Scotland Corporate Banking, which provided the funds and took an equity stake in Longshot. London firm Devonshires also did due diligence for the bank.


Most accommodating deal: City firm Denton Wilde Sapte advised the Home Office on the first project to trial asylum accommodation centres. The public private partnership contract for the centre at Bicester will be managed by GSL UK, which has been appointed to design, construct and operate it for a ten-year term. GSL, advised by its in-house lawyers, will appoint its consortium partner Carillion to carry out the design and construction. City firm Masons advised Carillion.


Most organic deal: Bristol-based TLT advised the Gourmet Mushroom Company on its acquisition of Haymes Farm Produce, the UK’s second largest supplier of organic mushrooms, for an undisclosed amount. Bristol firm Burges Salmon acted for the selling shareholders.


Deepest deal: City firm Eversheds advised mining company ATH Resources on its admission to the Alternative Investment Market and an associated placing that raised £11 million. City firm Macfarlanes acted for The Alchemy Plan, a shareholder that sold shares worth £10 million. City firm Memery Crystal advised Seymour Pierce, the nominated adviser and broker.
