Energy deal: City firm LG advised wind-turbine manufacturer Clipper Windpower on more than $350 million (£179 million) of investments, including $150 million from JP Morgan's private equity arm One Equity. Clipper is using the funds to deliver its Liberty Turbine into the US wind-energy market.
Gaming deal: London's Teacher Stern acted for Hollywood TV on the sale of its Pitchgaming 2 TV channel to NetPlay TV, represented by London firm Fox Williams, for £475,000. The channel, to be renamed Live Blackjack, will be operated by NetPlay on behalf of Hollywood TV until Ofcom and Sky approvals are obtained.
Powerful deal: City firm Herbert Smith advised Huaneng Power, China's largest listed power producer, on the HK$26 billion acquisition of SinoSing Power - advised by Chinese firm Haiwen. SinoSing, parent of Singapore's Tuas Power, is the first of three power assets to be sold by state investment firm Temasek Holdings.
Licence to deal: City firm SJ Berwin, in conjunction with Czech Republic firm Peterka & Partners, advised the First Czech-Russian Bank on winning a Czech Republic banking licence for its subsidiary, Bank of International Cooperation. It is only the second licence to be granted in the last ten years.
Housing deal: City firm Trowers & Hamlins advised not-for-profit housing association Liverpool Mutual Homes on the acquisition of 15,000 homes from Liverpool City Council, advised by its in-house team. Some £300m is to be invested across Liverpool Mutual's housing stock.
Motor deal: Hitchin firm Foreman Laws advised shareholders of Dentco, the parent company of Norton Way Motors, which operates Honda, Mazda and Peugeot garages, on the sale of their holding to Marubeni Auto Investment - advised by City firm Field Fisher Waterhouse.
Tax-efficient deal: Thames Valley firm Pitmans advised Bank of Scotland Corporate on funding a £4.5 million property development project in Southampton by developer Wyncon Botleigh - advised by south-west firms Osborne Clarke and Coole & Haddock. The scheme allows participants in the fund to benefit from a reduction on inheritance tax for monies invested in the funds.
Wii deal: North-west firm Farleys advised gaming accessory company Accessories 4 Technology, which makes controllers, carry cases and speaker systems for Nintendo and Sony, on moving its head office to Bolton town centre.
