It would appear that the Association of British Insurers has carried out a thorough survey, which proves conclusively that claimants recover more compensation if they are unrepresented than they do when solicitors are acting on their behalf (see [2006] Gazette, 13 July, 1).



I await with eager anticipation the survey which will now no doubt be commissioned by private health insurance companies in order to prove that patients requiring heart surgery would be better off having a stab at it themselves.
