Dropping names

College of Law Professor Nigel Tomkins demonstrated at the APIL conference his ability to name names without being sued for libel.

In a speech about risk assessment, the professor warned solicitors to pick their clients with care.

Some clients, he explained, are perfect; but others exaggerate, cannot string a sentence together, simply do not look honest and so on.

To illustrate both the perfect client and the defective ones, the professor used slides of the following, in no particular order: the Countess of Wessex, Tony Blair, Peter Mandelson, Neil Hamilton, Sir Steve Redgrave, Glenn Hoddle, and George W Bush.
