Listed international firm DWF today announced association agreements with a Portuguese law firm and a Spanish loss adjusting business, which it says will provide a platform for a possible expansion into markets across Latin America and Africa.

DWF said its agreements with Lisbon-based Nobre Guedes & Associados – which works with clients in Europe, as well as in Brazil and Portuguese-speaking countries in Africa – and RTS Group, which employs staff in Europe and across Latin America, will ‘support our strategy of offering integrated legal and business services to our clients on a global scale’.

DWF: Agreement will provide platform to expand into Latin America and Africa

Chief executive Sir Nigel Knowles said the associations ‘strengthen our capabilities in the Iberian Peninsula, but also provide a platform for us into markets across Latin America and Africa’. He added: ‘We will continue to build our presence globally through acquisitions, associations and lateral hires and we are delighted to be working with these two excellent businesses.’

DWF also said that the association with RTS is the first for the firm’s connected services division and will ‘significantly bolster’ its global claims management and adjusting service.

‘The association with RTS represents an important step forward for our connected services division, in the development of our single global claims management and adjusting platform,’ Knowles said. ‘It will enable us to offer our existing and new clients adjusting services in the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America for the first time.’

In December, DWF reported pre-tax profits of £11m in its half-year results, turning around a loss of £11m in the same period last year, while revenue in the six months to 31 October 2021 grew by 3.8% to £203.5m.

DWF Group’s shares were marginally up by 0.39% to 114.95p following today’s announcement.
