BlackBerry, the device that seems to have replaced certain lawyers' hands, is still top dog. RIM, the company behind BlackBerry, has sold 41% more units this year according to research analysts Gartner, and the growth is down to the success of its latest phone-style models. But the popularity of 'crackberries' with lawyers might backfire, if research by Rutgers University in New Jersey, US, is correct. Dr Gayle Porter at Rutgers said firms that get workers to use devices such as the BlackBerry might end up liable for encouraging 'techno addiction'.
