With its fancy art gallery and annual alternative Christmas tree, London-based Collyer-Bristow has designs on the arts world.

So it comes as no surprise that the firm is barging aside the likes of Alan Titchmarsh and Charlie Dimmock, and moving into, shall we say, horticultural art.

Last week, it sponsored a garden at the Chelsea Flower Show which won a gold medal and topped the 'chic gardens' category.

The garden was called Kelly's Creek and the blurb explains: 'Created by designers Alison Wear and Miranda Melville, it is inspired by aboriginal art and by Sidney Nolan's "Ned Kelly" series of paintings.

It evokes the idea of a dry river creek, using contrasting hot and cool colour schemes, coloured gravels and architectural planting.' As they say in law firm marketing departments, those who can, garden; those who can't, sponsor.
