In-house inspiration
Over the years, there have been some great law firm logo triumphs and, erm, not such great triumphs.
Osborne Clarke's lynx compared to Bevan Ashford's pixelated comet, perhaps.
But Wolverhampton firm fbc (Foster Baxter Cooksey, as was) took the admirable, if potentially dangerous, step of asking staff to design a logo for the name change.
And trainee solicitor Nicola Lynskey got busy with her crayons and compass to come up with this effort, which won general approval.
Partnership secretary John Lynch explains to Obiter that the idea of asking the staff came out of its Investors in People commitment.
'I wasn't looking for something that's fancy dancy,' he says, which is just as well because he clearly didn't get that.
'Everyone seems to be quite comfortable with the plainness of it.' And with the fact that it didn't have to pay ten grand for a professional to have a crack, we presume.
