l conference call rules face review The civil procedure rules regarding competition for conference call customers are set to change in January, after conference call provider LegalConnect petitioned the Lord Chancellor's Department.
LegalConnect said the wording fails to create a level playing field for providers.
Helen Roberts, LegalConnect's business development manager, said: 'We wanted to get this particular reference changed because lots of solicitors' firms wanting to use our service were under the impression that they were bound by law to use British Telecom.'

l FIRMS RAID FEE CHEST TO FUND ITHalf of all law firms invest more than 5% of their annual fee income in developing their IT systems, research carried out by Big Five accountants PricewaterhouseCoopers has shown.
The survey, which included 46 of the top 100 firms, found that 94% now have a Web site, with 77% having reviewed it in the last year to make sure it complies with regulatory requirements.
The study also showed that 92% have paid to recruit an IT manager, a rise of 18% on last year.
