Last week saw the launch of Research in Motion's new BlackBerry, the memorably named 7130g. The latest in the 7100 set, the 7130g is another unit that is more like a phone than a 'traditional' BlackBerry.
The device has all the features and applications one would expect, with push e-mail, Web browsing and a high-resolution colour LCD screen with an ambient light sensor.
Its almost back pocket-sized vital statistics are 114.5x56x18.4mm and it weighs in at 120g, including the battery.
The 7130g's keypad is similar to that of a regular mobile phone, but with a Qwerty layout rather than standard alphabetical. It uses RIM's SureType system that serves a phone dial keypad as well as supporting text entry with predictive text.
Powering the 7130g is Intel's Xscale 312Mhz processor, and memory grows ever larger with 64MB of flash memory and 16MB RAM.
RIM claims up to four hours of talk time and 18 days in standby mode. And for those who like to appear busy, even when they are not, the device comes loaded with Texas Hold'em King 2 poker.
