Coroner's courts and inquests working party - member vacanciesThe Law Society is seeking to appoint members to the new coroner's courts and inquests working party. Members of the working party will help the Law Society formulate and develop policy in this important area of practice. The working party will:- Provide expert input into Law Society policy papers on inquests and coroner's courts;- Scrutinise law reform proposals concerning inquests and coroner's courts, and; - Provide expert advice on the law, practice and procedure relating to coroner's courts.All applicants should have an active interest in law reform and changes in practice and procedure, assist the Law Society in responding to consultation papers and be able to contribute ideas and practical experience through attendance at working party meetings.Applications are sought from practitioners with skills or experience in one of the following areas:- Working with families following deaths in police or prison custody; - Working with families following deaths in other government institutions; - Inquests and coroner's courts, or; - As practising coroners.Applications are welcome from all those with the enthusiasm, expertise and time necessary, irrespective of sex, race, colour, age, sexuality, religion or disability.To request an application form please write to: Kathleen Lowe, Law Reform, The Law Society, 113 Chancery Lane, London WC2A 1PL, fax: 020 7320 5673 or e-mail: kathleen.lowe@lawsociety.org.ukThe closing date for applications is 21 October 2002.
