London firm Mishcon de Reya has said its ambitious future plans remain unaffected despite the simultaneous departure of four corporate partners.

The firm revealed this week that Kevin McCarthy, Ross Bryson, Andrew Rimmington and Saul Sender will all be leaving, reportedly to join Chicago-founded Seyfarth Shaw.

McCarthy has most recently been chair of the corporate practice with Mishcon de Reya and had been with the firm for more than 20 years. Between them, the team had chalked up more than 70 years’ service before leaving for the US rival.

A spokesperson for Mishcon de Reya reaffirmed its commitment to the future of its corporate department.

They said: ‘Having a corporate practice with the scale, ambition and market standing that reflects our strategic priorities is central to our plans. We will continue to invest significantly in that ambition through the development of our existing talent, targeted lateral recruitment and close collaboration with our wider transactional practices. Client work continues uninterrupted and we remain confident in the long-term growth of the department.’

The departure of the corporate partners came as Mishcon de Reya announced it had signed a 20-year lease for a new headquarters in Holborn. The firm has taken 161,000 sq ft across four floors, and after the move in 2029, it will be the first time in decades that the London office is under one roof.

In its most recently published accounts, for the year ended 31 March 2025, the firm reported that revenue rose by 9% to £331.7m. Profit before tax and members’ remuneration increased by 14% to £97m.
