Private Practice.Partners.There was plenty of activity in London this week, with leading sports firm Max Bitel Greene pulling off a major transfer by bringing in well-known football lawyer and agent Mel Goldberg from Grower Freeman Goldberg.
The firm has also promoted property and litigation lawyer Brian Levy and commercial property lawyer Colin Ledward.
It now has seven partners.Intellectual property specialist Brian Miller has flown to Davenport Lyons' partnership from Virgin Interactive, where he was head of legal affairs for Europe.In the City, magic circle firm Allen & Overy has scooped up four banking partners from Norton Rose.
Andrew Bamber, Tim Polglase, Robin Harvey and Clive Wells take the leveraged finance team to 16 partners.The law firms associated with accountants have been busy.
Rob Murray has left KLegal, where he was head of competition, to take up the same post at DLA.At the same time, KLegal has hired CMS Cameron McKenna asset finance partner Richard Goodman.Landwell has promoted three partners: Alistair Hogarth and Caroline Graham in corporate, and Simon Whitehead in tax litigation.

London firm Russell Jones & Walker has strengthened its commercial litigation department with the capture of partner Anthony Riem from Philippsohn Crawfords Berwald.Herbert Smith partner Tim Steadman has left the firm's London base to work in the company/ commercial department of the Hong Kong office.
He replaces Ashley Alder, who has been appointed executive director of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission.In the midlands, John Stobart has joined Leicester firm Harvey Ingram Owston as head of corporate from media company Taylor Nelson Sofres, where he started up the in-house legal function in 1993.
He becomes the firm's 21st partner.Nottingham-based Browne Jacobson has welcomed two partners: tax and trusts lawyer William Colacicchi from Willcox Lane Clutterbuck, and construction specialist Russell Deards from Nelsons.
Solicitor Augustine Rouine and trainee Danielle Cafferkey have moved with Mr Deards.Commercial property lawyer Barry Sankey has left Browne Jacobson to become a partner in the Nottingham office of Shoosmiths.
He will be joined by dispute resolution expert Guy Willetts, who moves from City firm Theodore Goddard.In the north-west, Liverpool firm Gregory Abrams has appointed conveyancing, wills and probate lawyer Helena Mitchinson as its first ever female partner.
