Partners
A high-profile capture for City giant Norton Rose kicks off this week's moves.
The firm has recruited Jonathan Hebst, head of European law at the Financial Services Authority, as a partner from October.
One-time Osborne Clarke partner David Schollenberger is to become a technology partner at City firm DJ Freeman when he returns to the UK from the US, where he was assistant general counsel at Choice Hotels International.
Another IT specialist, Simon Briskman, is joining Olswang as a partner from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
Property partner Thelma Marshall has left Mishcon de Reya for Lawrence Graham.
On the promotion front, Richards Butler has made up four partners: Paris-based Ana Atallah (shipping litigation), Matthew Puhar and Athens-based Dorothea Tomazos (corporate finance), and Michael Walkington (insurance).
It now has 116 partners.
Commercial property associate Peter Epaminondas has been made a partner at Derbyshire firm Robinsons.
In the north-west, Michael Kennedy - formerly a partner in the Manchester office of Addleshaw Booth & Co - has become assistant city solicitor at Liverpool City Council.
Manchester firm Pannone & Partners has three new equity partners - Alicia Rendell (personal injury), Alex Megaw (commercial litigation), Rachel Dobson (litigation) - and three new salaried partners: Claire Maggs (personal injury), Laura Morgan (clinical negligence) and Ursula Gould (corporate).
It now has 64 partners (43 equity and 21 salaried).
Bolton-based Keoghs has made up David Tonge (commercial litigation), Rob Gray (personal injury), Peter Bibby (corporate and commercial) and Ken Young (defendant personal injury).
It now has 27 partners.
Four new partners at recently merged Manchester and Leeds firm Cobbetts: Sean Gibbs and Jeremy Reilly (commercial litigation and insolvency) in Manchester and Aine MacRory (employment) and Margaret Norton (banking) in Leeds.
It now has 79 partners.
Yorkshire firm Keeble Hawson has 26 partners after promoting commercial litigator Stuart Ward, and corporate and business affairs specialist Paul Trudgill.
MANAGEMENT
Tony Edwards, head of company and commercial at south-east firm Thomas Eggar, has been appointed to the role of deputy managing partner.
New head of private client Patricia Woolgar and new head of property Chris Baker have joined the firm's board.
It is all change at Colchester firm Birkett Long, with Philip George promoted to managing partner - he takes over from Chris Holmes, who becomes senior partner.
Former senior partner Tony Frost - who held the position for 23 years - will remain as a partner.
Crawley firm Rawlison Butler has elected Tim Sadka as its managing partner - he replaces Clive Prior, who is to concentrate on his practice as co-head of commercial property.
In the west country, Peter Taylor has become managing partner and head of commercial at Exeter-based Veitch Penny.
He joins from his own firm, Taylor Thornback, which recently merged with Salisbury firm Trethowans.
Another Salisbury firm, Wilsons, has promoted Rhoddy Voremberg to senior partner.
He replaces Mark Hatt-Cook, who will continue as a property, farms and estates partner.
Oxford firm Henmans has made Julia Iball, a partner in the personal injury department, managing partner.
Corporate finance partner Pascal Roux and shipping partner Lars Lewis have become joint managing partners of Richards Butler's Paris office.
The office's founding partner, Mike Mackenzie-Smith, becomes senior partner, and Jean-Luc Bouton replaces Mr Roux as group manager of the corporate group.
City giant Linklaters has promoted litigation partner John Turnbull to head up its UK litigation and arbitration practice.
Ian Greenfield has been elected head of Hammond Suddards Edge's Leeds office in succession to Mike Henley, who has chosen to return to his commercial and intellectual property practice.

In London, Deborah Lloyd leaves Herbert Smith to become a senior solicitor in Ashurst Morris Crisp's environmental risk management team.
Charles Russell has expanded its international telecoms team with Spanish lawyer Marta Parraga from US firm Steptoe & Johnson.
Guernsey firm Carey Langlois has appointed two associates to its London office: pensions lawyer Christian Wharton, previously with Hammond Suddards Edge, and corporate lawyer Fiona Fleming, who leaves Berwin Leighton Paisner.
Kerman & Co has promoted corporate assistant Michael Bennett to associate.
Several firms with new partners have also made other moves.
Cobbetts has recruited two new employment assistants: Gareth Roberts from Robinson King in Altrincham and David Walton from Manchester firm Wacks Caller.
However, Wacks Caller has recruited corporate finance assistant Phillipa Gannon, who joins from Gorna & Co.
Keoghs have two newly promoted associates: insurance expert Tom Howarth and personal injury expert Helen Webster.
Charlotte Rosser has been promoted to associate in the commercial property department of Robinsons in Ilkeston.
Chris Browne has left technology company GenRad to join Keeble Hawson as an intellectual property assistant and commercial property associate Darren Woodward joins the firm from Addleshaw Booth & Co.
