A growing firm which has established a network of sites across Lancashire and Cumbria has made its move into the Manchester market.

Harrison Drury already has six offices in towns and cities across the north west and has now opened a Manchester base in the Tootal Buildings in Oxford Road.

The firm has appointed corporate partner Rick Life to lead the new office. Life, formerly with national firm TLT, will work alongside fellow corporate lawyer Mark Traynor, who was brought on board in October, and the firm expects to make further senior appointments in the coming weeks.

John Chesworth, executive chairman of Harrison Drury, said: ‘Manchester has grown into a truly global market and one that we want to be part of. Opening a Manchester office brings us closer to our growing client base in the region, strengthens our relationships with the city’s professional community, and gives us access to a UK-leading talent pool.’

Harrison Drury, which now has 150 staff, has its roots in Preston going back more than 120 years. It began its recent period of expansion in 2010 by opening in Garstang, then opened sites in Lancaster, Clitheroe and Kendal. In 2017 it merged with Chenery Maher Solicitors and opened a second office in Preston.

It advises corporate and commercial clients including large organisations, SMEs, owner-managed businesses, and high-net-worth individuals. It also has a home and family division specialising in family law, wills and probate, and residential property.
