Laggards in this year’s London Legal Walk who were unable to power-walk their way back to Chancery Lane in time to hear veteran protest singer Tom Robinson (pictured busking on the steps at 113) perform in the Law Society's common room will soon have a second chance to get with the beat.

The singer-songwriter, whose Tom Robinson Band had chart success in the late 1970s with Glad to be Gay, 2-4-6-8 Motorway and Up Against the Wall, has announced he is releasing his first new album for 20 years.

Only the Now (Castaway Northwest Recordings) will feature The Mighty Sword of Justice, which Robinson penned for a Save Legal Aid Rally outside the Old Bailey two years ago.

Robinson and his band will also be touring the country as part of the Mighty Sword of Justice Tour this autumn. Obiter notes that it's the lord chancellor's birthday this week, so if anyone is stuck for a present idea...
