Sometimes, this investigative journalism lark is just too easy.

Last week, north-west firm Hill Dickinson announced that it had purchased the building its Manchester office occupies.

Sadly, though, the amount it paid was undisclosed, but that did not put us off in the slightest.

This was information the profession needed to know.

So, we fearlessly read on in the press release to learn that the cost was 'an undisclosed sum thought to be in the region of 7 million'.

It poses the question of when an undisclosed sum is actually no such thing.

When you disclose it, perhaps.
