Solicitor stabbed to death mourned by Yorkshire lawyers
A Yorkshire solicitor was murdered in a park in Leeds last week.
Christopher Scholey - who practised at Barnsley firm Mills Kemp & Brown before retiring in March - was stabbed in the heart in broad daylight while walking through the park and died before reaching hospital.
Police are still uncertain of the motive, although it is reported that it might have been a robbery attempt.
Police this week visited the firm to take brief statements on Mr Scholey's work.
Practice manager Barry Worth said: 'I think the chances of their being any connection between his work and his death have been pretty much discounted.'
He said Mr Scholey, who served for many years as secretary of Barnsley Law Society, was 'known, liked and respected by pretty much everyone in the legal community here'.
