I write to extol the virtues of the Land Registry in the speed and manner in which it recently dealt with an urgent application for registration of title.

The need arose for an urgent application for first registration to be made. Papers were sent by courier to the Coventry District Land Registry on the afternoon of 23 June and were received there at 3.30pm. The title consisted of a large unregistered epitome of title. By the next morning, the title plan had been mapped and the matter was being considered by a Land Registry lawyer. At 5pm, I received a call with one or two requisitions and Land Registry Direct was used to obtain land charges searches and official copies. The results were faxed to the Land Registry at 9am on the morning of 25 June and I was able to pick up official copies of the register entries and title plan at midday on 25 June.

It is probably the case that this is not a record, but I would like to place on record my thanks to the Land Registry in dealing with this application so swiftly and with such consideration.
