Eversheds has plugged an important gap in its fast-expanding international network by securing an association with German firm Heisse Kursawe.
Based in Munich, Heisse Kursawe split off from national German practice Arcon in January this year and focuses on company and commercial law.
The 11-partner firm - whose clients include Bayerische HypoVereinsbank, Burger King and insurer Munich Re - will retain its name, but adopt the logo and style of the Eversheds International group. The two firms recently acted together on radio frequency applications group Stanelco's $25 million (£14 million) cross-border acquisition of German company Biotec.
The tie-up is the latest in a series of associations Eversheds has set up in Europe in recent years. In January 2002, it established an alliance with Italian firm Piergrossi Villa Bianchini Riccardi, while two years later it unveiled a link with Spanish firm Lupicinio.
More recently, Eversheds has secured agreements with firms in Hungary, Austria and Poland.
Alan Jenkins, Eversheds' chairman, said: 'Germany is the country of the European Union with the largest economy and a magnet for clients from around the world, especially those from the US building European businesses.'
