The nine-partner practice has replaced its existing practice management system, supplied by Norwel, with a combination of Select BackOffice and the Select Fee Earner Desktop.
Select will provide the firm with a complete infrastructure upgrade including all back-office and front-office systems, with data conversion, implementation, training and support services.Hampshire firm Coffin Mew & Clover has appointed Taylor Made Computer Solutions to install and support a new information and communication technology infrastructure that incorporates network, telephone and support services.
Additionally, the firm is to bring in Legal Office - the fully integrated desktop, accounts and case management system from Videss.
It chose Videss over Solicitec, Axxia and incumbent supplier AIM.Following suit, the newly merged Lancashire firm Blackhursts Swainson has adopted Legal Office across its four sites and Luton practice Machins has also bought it to replace its existing Technology for Business system.London-based pensions specialist firm Sacker & Partners has signed a contract to implement a new practice management system by Elite.
Partner Nick Couldrey said the firm chose Elite's system because it is 'advanced, proven and easy to use'.Crawley firm Stevensdrake has had the latest radio frequency technology installed to overcome the problem of linking new premises to its existing local area network (LAN).
Pavillion Computing designed and installed a Citrix Metaframe XP server-based computing solution to run over a Cisco outdoor wireless LAN link to join the firm and its commercial department, which has relocated to the other end of the street.Welsh firm Hugh James Ford Simey has installed SOS's Practice Manager software - which now comes with a built-in contact relationship management module as standard - throughout its offices.Midlands conveyancing practice Sarginsons Hughes & Masser is to implement Axxia's Case Manager independently of its practice management system.
The introduction of the system is hoped to streamline the Coventry firm's conveyancing capability by providing on-line access to real-time case status, and links between estate agents, mortgage lenders and surveyors.Meanwhile, Cumbrian firm Poole Townsend is spending more than 100,000 with Axxia for infrastructure and software, rolling out Axxia Desktops, Artiion accounts package and Axxia Case Manager.
They replace the current Avenue/Technology for Business installation.Both Dixon Keogh Johnson in Northwich and Birmingham firm Glaisyers have invested in a new office and practice management system from Pericom.
The firms are to implement Pericom PMS legal accounts and OMS case management and workflow automation applications.Manchester firm Pannone & Partners has upgraded its infrastructure from Novell Netware, Groupwise and BorderManager to Microsoft's .net technology.
The upgrade, carried out by Associated Network Solutions, is part of an ongoing IT project that has so far cost the firm over 2 million.
