Robin Simon, the new law firm formed following the demerger from Hammonds of its commercial insurance team, is rolling out AIM's Evolution practice management system after selecting it ahead of products from SOS and Videss.
Accountants MacIntyre Hudson assisted Robin Simon - which opens this month with offices in the City, Leeds and Manchester - in evaluating its IT requirements.
Another new practice, Scarborough-based criminal law firm Tubbs & Co, has selected Axxia System's Eiion accounts package and Desktop productivity suite.
South-east firm ASB Law has completed a 1.5 million, 18-month IT modernisation programme.
The installation covers more than 350 users in seven offices.
It comprises ten Citrix servers, Clustered Microsoft 2000 Exchange and Windows 2000 file servers, Microsoft IIS server, Microsoft SQL 2000 server, and an Infomix server.
The firm, which was advised on its strategy by Simmans Consulting, has also installed 2Mb leased lines to link all of its offices over the Internet Forman world-wide locations.
The software includes MS Office, Axxia's integrated accounts, case management and marketing databases, as well as Laserforms.
Intellectual property consultancy Rouse & Co International - whose legal arm in the UK is London law firm Willoughby & Partners - has chosen Elite's integrated practice and financial management system.
Willoughbys will also be adopting Elite's software.
Torquay firm Kitson Hutchings, which has 16 partners, is installing SOS Accounting and Solicitec's practice and case management software in a six-figure upgrade.
Case management company Select Legal has worked with seven-partner Leeds firm Levi & Co to develop a personal injury system designed for use on cases from The Accident Group with the aim of increasing the firm's caseload.
Civica, which produces the Galaxy integrated practice and case management solutions, has released a list of contract wins and implementations over the past year, including: magic circle firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer; City firms Beachcroft Wansbroughs, Memery Crystal, and Rosenblatt; south-west firms Clarke Willmott and Thring Townsend; Bristol-based Meade King; York and Lincoln firm Denison Till; The Endeavour Partnership in Stockton-on-Tees; Stoke-based Hacking Ashton; Herbert Mallam Gowers in Oxford; Chester's Hillyer McKeown; and Bishop's Stortford firm Stanley Tee & Company.
Local authorities, including the London boroughs of Bexley and Lewisham, Horsham District Council and Kirklees Metropolitan Borough Council are also now Civica clients.
David Meddick & Co - the Norwich-based practice run by the chairman of the Council for Licensed Conveyancers - is installing Eclipse's ProCLAIM conveyancing case management software.
