The latest event on the calendar to get a new look for 2020 is the Opening of the Legal Year. On Thursday 1 October it will be marked by a Service of Choral Evensong at the historic Temple Church in London. Robert Buckland QC MP, lord chancellor and secretary of state for justice (as we went to press) will give an address. Alas the 800-year-old church remains closed to the public (but is open for private prayer, see www.templechurch.com). So the congregation will be joining online by live stream. Buckland is a renowned chorister, so no doubt will be giving his all.
