The most widespread miscarriage of justice in British history may soon be coming to a theatre near you. Glitch – The True Story of the Post Office Scandal deals with the case of Pam Stubbs, a subpostmistress who lost her home and her business when there were unexplained shortfalls in her accounts. Her evidence in the High Court trial (Bates v Post Office) was pivotal to the judge’s conclusion that the Horizon software was faulty.

Originally commissioned by the University of Reading and written by local playwright Zannah Kearns, the production secured funding from Arts Council England to go on a national tour.

Currently at Derby, the tour ends where the production began next month. Local law firm Dexter Montague is sponsoring the Reading run at Minghella Studios from 7-17 April.

‘We are delighted to support the remarkably talented Rabble Theatre in its local-grown story of national legal and social significance,’ said partner Tony Roe (back row, third from left).
