Normally, when we get our hands on the Legal Aid Agency’s annual report and accounts, we skip to the bit solicitors are most interested in – executive board member salaries (page 38).

However, for 2015/16 Obiter was excited to discover that the agency has rolled out ‘LAA TV’, an internal communications channel ‘providing staff across our offices with up-to-date news covering the LAA and the wider MoJ’.

But surely the agency is missing a trick? Obiter is undoubtedly not the only one to wonder what happens behind the scenes at the quango. Surely a Legal Aid Agency reality TV show similar to Channel 4’s Big Brother – complete with a diary room where staff can relay their feelings to the audience – would send viewing figures through the roof.
