Obiter is now in the fourth year of an addiction to BBC2’s The Great British Bake Off. But if we had a criticism of the programme, it’s that lawyers were somewhat under-represented.

Nice then to see Yorkshire firm AWB Charlesworth staking out some of the field for solicitors, running its own Bake Off in aid of local charity Skipton and Craven Action for Disability.

The ‘firm bake’ pitched staff against partners, and featured mouth-watering lemon drizzle cakes, decorated chocolate sponges and ‘a slightly unusual, but nonetheless delicious’ chocolate Guinness cake.

However star baker went to ‘staff’ – property solicitor Sara Mounsey who made a Green & Black’s salted caramel layer cake.

Sad to say, no slice made it to Obiter Towers, so it’s home via Greggs again.
