Nominations have opened for the Law Society Excellence Awards 2014. The awards celebrate the very best work of individual solicitors as well as the successes and innovations of practices and firms, both large and small.

Law Society president Nicholas Fluck (pictured) said: ‘The uniqueness of the Excellence Awards lies in its recognition of outstanding people across the entire legal profession, from a sole practitioner on the high street to a managing partner in a top-100 firm. So we urge the legal profession of England and Wales to come forward and tell us about our finest practitioners and their achievements.

‘We’ve seen some amazing talent since the first awards in 2007 but we know there are many more of you out there.'

Team/firm categories include excellence in pro bono, client service, marketing and communications and diversity and inclusion. Individual categories include, solicitor-advocate of the year, junior lawyer of the year, and the Law Society Gazette legal personality of the year.

Entries close on Friday 6 June. The awards will be presented on Thursday 9 October at an event in Westminster, London.
