Top 100 East Anglian firm Birketts has reported a 21% rise in net profit for the last financial year on the back of an ‘organic’ 12% hike in income.

Turnover climbed from £28.7m in 2012/13 to £32.1m, and net profit from £6.2m to £7.5m. The firm said average profit per equity partner last year was £235,000, a 13% rise on 2013.

Chief executive Jonathan Agar said the firm’s corporate and property teams had particularly good years, increasing their contribution to income by four and five percentage points respectively.

‘Our results reflect the increased confidence in the region,’ he said. ‘We feel that the region is economically much stronger than people really realise.’

Birketts has offices in Cambridge, Chelmsford, Ipswich and Norwich.
