"I think most people would be happy to have whiplash and £3,000, rather than no whiplash and £0"

said the Insurance man who's never had whiplash.....

Having suffered a whiplash injury, which caused significant pain and discomfort for several months, I would happily have paid £3,000 NOT to have whiplash. I was 17 at the time and unaware of the existence of Personal Injury claims, and so, before you ask, no I didn't claim compensation.

Funny how when Legal Aid was available for PI the Insurers kept quiet about needing any reforms etc. It's only since the removal of Legal Aid, and the subsequent and necessary emergence of CFAs, that these Claims Farmers got involved, and Insurance Companies SOLD personal details of potential Claimants to those Claims Farmers, that the so called "culture" came to be. Funny how the Insurers who now complain about a claims culture were the ones who made a fortune from referral fees for selling personal info.

What a load of crock. People have been claiming for decades, at the expense (win or lose) of the Legal Aid fund. The only reason for any increase in the number of claims is the increase in the incidence of accidents, Insurers selling accident details and public knowledge that they CAN make a claim if they have been injured when somebody else is to blame.
